Curators department, Papiliorama Foundation
Through its live plant and animal exhibits the Papiliorama Foundation in Kerzers provides nature experiences and environmental education to over 250’000 visitors annually, focussing not only on tropical habitats and species, but also on the diversity of indigenous nature.
The Foundation is offering an internship as from September 2019 to a trained biologist. As an assistant to the curator your tasks will include amongst others:
- Updating animal records on the ZIMS worldwide zoo database
- Support in compiling species studbook data
- Writing of best practice guidelines
- Compiling data and writing standard operating procedures for animal enrichment, as well as creating a schedule for enrichment for all animals in Papiliorama’s collection
You have a degree in biology and are fluent in spoken and written English, as well as German or French (but preferably German). You are able to commit yourself for 6 months as from September 2019. You are interested in the conservation of species and gene pool maintenance of animals in human care and willing to learn about this and other zoo relevant topics. You like working in a team and have good social skills and flexibility.
We look forward to receiving your application before July the 15th 2019:
